Site Details
The pines between Wells and Holkham (see Wells Woods) can hold huge numbers of migrants during fall conditions. Head to the western end of the car park and explore the woodland. Anything is possible, but many of the rarities found over the years have been in an area known as the 'Dell' TF910455 between where the tracks fork (one track heads towards the beach and the other follows the southern side of the pines towards the car park at the end of Lady Anne's Drive). However, patience is the key to the game and any part of these woods can produce the unusual.
The channel heading north from Wells and running parallel to the road can produce ducks and grebes, while the saltmarsh holds Brent Geese during the winter months.
