Site Details
The second-lowest of the chain of five reservoirs in Longdendale. Generally peaty and fairly unattractive to waterbirds, but mixed habitat means a range of moorland and woodland birds are present.

Directions
There is vehicular access to the lower dam from the A628 in Tintwistle (opposite Chapel Brow), and to Rhodeswood dam at the upper end via an inconspicuous stone gateway (just east of a large lay-by on the A628) into a wooded drive. There is parking for several cars at either point. Permitted paths and public rights of way allow almost a full circuit of the reservoir. Rhodeswood dam is also accessible by car along a deeply potholed track from the end of an unsignposted public road from Padfield.Access
Vehicular access status uncertain but widely used by locals. Good access on foot on permitted paths and public rights of way in this popular recreational area.Parking
Limited parking on access roads at both ends of reservoir. Official parking in layby on A628 east of Rhodeswood dam.Opening Times
