Site Details
Gravel pits with surrounding fields. The pits are owned by ARC Quarries and back onto the River Trent. Good spot for Wheatear, Whinchat, Yellow Wagtails, Common Tern, the odd Arctic Tern, most species of duck (especially in winter). This site takes you right through to Attenborough Nature Reserve. An excellent day can be had - we have had Bluethroat there and Great White Egret at Attenborough in the past, so expect the odd surprise.Birding Sites in the Long Eaton GPs Area
