Site Details
A dynamic wetland complex, consisting of a freshwater reedbed, 3 scrapes, wet-grassland plus extensive grazed and non-grazed saltmarsh. There are also strips of arable cover crops for farmland birds, hedegrows for summering and wintering passerines and a long walk out to the Witham Mouth which can produce some good seabirds and Spring/Autumn migrants in the right conditions.

If heading to or from Norfolk along the A17, take the A16 to Boston then follow the brown signs.Access
All paths to the hides are on a sturdy flat surface. The sea bank and cross bank to the south are not surfaced. There is a £2 voluntary donation for non-members. Dogs are allowed along the road and on the sea bank and cross bank but not on the reserve itself or in the hides.Parking
Free parking for members, up to 60 cars. Coaches by arrangement.Facilities
Visitor Centre (open 09:30am-4pm daily except Christmas Day; extended opening hours until 5pm from April to October) has 2 unisex WCs, 1 disabled WC, coffee, tea and light refreshments. Binocular hire also available. Three wheelchair-accessible bird hides and 3.5km of wheelchair-accessible nature trails.Key Areas / Routes
Visitor Centre for a hot drink and welcome to see what's about.Head to the 360 Hide for point-blank views or waders and wildfowl.
Head up on to the sea bank to get some height and gaze across the bird filled grassland and saltmarsh.
Carry on down to the Raptor Viewpoint to enjoy close up views of some of our most exciting birds.
Work back along the cross bank and through the hedgerow looking for passerines.
