Site Details
RAF Metheringham was home to one wave of the Dambusters, more precisley known as Operation Chastise RAF 617 Squadron, now at RAF Lossiemouth. There were several runways, now taken up, bar two, which are now public highways, if very rugged terrain.
It is now mainly used by birdwatchers and driving instructors.
There are two nearly parallel 'runways' and they usually have piles of unused tarmac down one side.

Directions
Travelling from Lincoln take the B1188 (Woodhall Spa) and then the B1189 (Woodhall Spa), turning left and left again at its junction with the B1191 (Woodhall Spa).Travelling from Sleaford take the A153 (Horncastle) following the signs for Woodhall Spa. Take the B1191 through Martin and go right just before the junction with the B1189.
Signs to the Heritage Centre are just across the north/south road from the aerodrome.
