Site Details

A typical flash, developed into a Country Park, with some rough scrub reed and rush areas. A refuse tip at the west end encourages gulls.

Directions

From M6 leave at Junction 23 on the A580 heading towards Manchester. At the 5th set of traffic lights turn left onto the A579; at the first set of lights turn left. Pennington Flash is the first turning on the right.

Parking

Main car park pay and display - 60p per day.

Facilities

Several hides: one over the main water; one over a man-made pool; another is an education hide for local schools; and one known locally as the feeding station, which was reconstructed with a donation from the LOS in memory of R. Wood, Warden and staunch member of the LOS. Also toilets and visitor centre.
