Common Buzzard by Colin Harvey

As regular visitors to the BirdGuides gallery will know, Glamorgan-based photographer Colin Harvey spends a lot of time photographing his local Common Buzzards and produces a range of striking and unusual takes on these familiar birds of prey. Colin's latest offering is particularly impressive, having caught a buzzard as it comes in to land against a beautiful blue winter sky. Every detail of this regal raptor's plumage can be appreciated in this captivating pose, which nets Colin a well-deserved POTW.
