Yellow-throated Toucan and Tropical Kingbird by Jonathan Scragg

This fascinating image by Jonathan Scragg of a Yellow-throated Toucan being mobbed by a Tropical Kingbird, taken recently in Costa Rica, injects more than a splash of colour into what has been a grey and chilly week for many areas of Britain. Toucans are often seen buried in the canopies of tall trees, feeding unobtrusively on fruits, so to frame one in flight against a glorious blue sky like this makes for an impressive and unusual POTW winner.
