Photo of the Week: 12–18 April

Grey Heron by Mark Woodhead

Grey Heron

Sometimes it's not all about long lenses and high ISO settings ... for the second time this year this week's winning shot was taken with a mobile phone and is an opportunistic capture of an opportunistic Grey Heron by Mark Woodhead.

I've photographed a few species at picnic tables and cafés, but never a Grey Heron. However, the urbanisation of species such as this and others like Wood Pigeon and Carrion Crow can lead to great photos.

Congratulations to Mark on a unique-looking shot, taken using his iPhone 5 and shooting at 1/393rd second on ISO50, the napkin moment has been beautifully caught!
