Site Details
Found on the A40 midway between Andoversford and Cheltenham, east of Cheltenham. Formerly protected as the watershed for the Severn Trent reservoir with no public access. Area planted with conifers as a cash crop. Now managed by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. There is an ongoing program of replacing the conifers with native trees and open land. Open reservoir with a stream and boggy area at top end. Land rises steeply to the north covered largely with evergreen and mixed woodland. Several streams run down the hill making much of the land boggy. The wood is bounded on three sides by typical Cotswold farmland and to the south by Lineover Wood, managed by the Woodland Trust, which runs into Wistley Hill - typical Cotswold scarp grassland with scattered Birch and scrub.

Open at all times.Facilities
Five screen hides overlooking lake. No other facilities but the Waterside Pub (400 metres) could be amenable if you are likely to purchase food or drink! Light snacks available at farmhouse near west entrance.Did you know that you can submit photographs to be included in this sites image gallery?
