We are looking for a Content Editor to work for BirdGuides – Europe's leading birding news website and sightings service – and Birdwatch magazine, the premier monthly magazine for keen birders.

Together our two birding brands and their associated social platforms reach a combined audience of more than 150,000 enthusiastic and knowledgeable birders every month, meaning you will occupy one of the most influential editorial roles in British and European birding.

As part of a dedicated editorial team, your job will be to produce expert and engaging birding content across all of our channels. You will help deliver a combined print/digital publishing strategy designed to grow print and digital magazine sales, website visitor numbers and overall group revenue.

As such you will be an avid birder with a thorough background knowledge of British and European birds and be familiar with the principles of taxonomy and avian classification.

Ideally, you will also have a good knowledge and understanding of using online analytics, of developing audiences via social media, apps and video and be bursting with ideas and positivity about the potential reach of digital platforms in birding.

You will already be working in content generation, or a related editorial environment, and be as enthusiastic about driving engagement as you are about adding a new mega to your list.

You will also be required to assist with the production of Birdwatch, a monthly magazine, and the digital version of the publication, so any previous magazine experience would also be a bonus.

Based full-time in our dedicated birding office in North London, you will be ideally placed to be a part of a large and rapidly growing media company and carve a real career.

Working for a family-run business has many benefits and will provide you with an attractive salary, a company pension and life assurance scheme, 26 days holiday per year, ongoing training and development, a 35-hour week, free car parking and a real career path.
