Taken on 20/01/2011
From the colour rings it is known that this bird was ringed in May 09 as a nestling in Besne, Loire Atlantique, France. It was seen at several sites in Lancashire in Sept, Nov and Dec 09 and Jan 10. It then appeared in Cardiff in January 10. I previously photographed it at Ashleworth Hams, Gloucestershire in March of 2010 (posted on Birdguides). It therefore seems to have joined the community of GWE at Ham Wall for the winter. Hopefully it will stay and breed (they are thought to be capable of breeding in their second year).
Equipment
