Grey Heron by Clive Daelman

Clive Daelman is a long-standing contributor to the BirdGuides galleries, producing an array of innovative and arresting Photo of the Week winners over the years. His latest contribution is this superb close-up of an adult Grey Heron. Nice enough, you might think, until you look that little bit closer and notice that the heron is milliseconds away from swallowing its latest meal! This terrific capture is set against a contrasting dark background, which only emphasises the rather stunned look on the fish's face as it meets its demise.
