This bird was feeding on Cotoneaster lacteus. This species usually remains untouched until all the berries of other fruiting garden trees and shrubs have been consumed, but not this year. The plant is 4 metres tall and provided berries for both Fieldfares, Redwings and Blackbirds. No dominant bird controlled the bush, so the berries were available to all comers and were soon consumed in the cold snap.
