Seeing pictures of Jack Snipe on the ground only made me wish I could be that lucky! So imagine my delight when I saw this one! Carrion crows are now my best friend as it was thanks to one foraging on the marshy grass in front of the hide and his actions made this Jack Snipe jump out breifly in full view! I knew something was different about it so I quickly took a picture and when I examined it, I thought "wow!" Notice the short beak, and it's smaller size gives it a "fat neck" look and the stripes are very heavy compared to the Common Snipe, of which 2 were with the one called Jack.
