One a small group of colour-ringed Common Cranes seen from the Tack Piece hide. It’s the female called “Sedge” (aka Beate’s Bird), wearing a colour combination of White over Yellow over Red on her right leg and a satellite tracking device on her left. She originates from the Great Crane Project hatch-and-release programme on the Somerset Levels. She was hatched on 1st May 2010 and released on 24th August that year, so almost 3 years old now and hopefully soon at a stage when she could make her first breeding attempt.
