I was doing a WeBS count on the banks of the river Mersey when I came across this single dunlin roosting on the edge of the marsh as the tide came in. It seemed to be very relaxed though it kept watching us with one eye. I got within ten feet of the bird but I was careful not to disturb it and it was still there as I left.
