A Scilly Pelagic in search of Stormies

Some of the trickiest birds to film are pelagic species. One can hunker down on a headland in a gale and hope for the best, or one can actively pursue the birds by going on a tailor-made cruise. Our footage library was sorely in need of decent high-definition European Storm-petrel, and many of the shearwaters. So we dispatched Stephen Menzie and Steve Rutt to Scilly — having told them not to come back until they had captured full-frame Stormies. Would they succeed? Would they rack up an enormous hotel bill and dip everything? Watch and see.
