Cranes are large birds, many predominantly white or grey, with long legs, necks and bills. They are found on every continent except Antarctica and South America, and many (but not all) species migrate. Most inhabitat open areas and wetlands, and several species are endangered. Sarus Crane (Grus antigone) is the tallest of all flying birds, standing almost six feet tall.
