Description
While on the phone, my wife noticed this "minute" bird (juvenile Goldcrest) just outside the window. It was sheltering from the heavy rain under a hanging basket. I grabbed the camera and tried to get a shot through the window. No luck with rain drops on the glass and poor position. So I swapped to the 800mm grabbed the tripod and went outside. Not easy to get a good shot with poor light, wind blowing and light rain. Anyway, things turned out OK. BTW the flowers were not included to just add colour, but to emphasise the size of the bird (juvenile Goldcrests are really very small). Also, one becomes very aware of their fight for survival in poor weather.
