Site Details

A large (c.8000 acre) remote and sparsely populated low-lying estuarine agricultural area adjacent to the River Humber and owned by the Crown. A landscape of large arable fields bordered by drainage channels; the few mature trees are chiefly to be found around the scattered farms and settlements. Excellent views overlooking the saltmarshes and the Humber can be made from the courtesy path running eastwards along the embankment from Stone Creek.

Directions

From the A1033 Hull to Withernsea road leave Thorngumbald south on Church Lane and continue 8km on single-track road (laybys) to Stone Creek. Leave Patrington on the A1033 south west via Humber Lane and the Brick Road to Sunk Island crossroads.

Parking

Laybys on single track roads. Please take into consideration that these roads are used by large agricultural machinery.
