Monikie Country Park, with its reservoirs, woodland and grassland, is an ideal location for a visit to the countryside. It offers many opportunities to enjoy scenic surroundings and a pleasant countryside atmosphere at any time of the year.

Directions

From Dundee: Take the A92 and turn left onto the B962 at the Ardestie crossroads, signposted to Newbigging. Follow the road for about 3 miles then look for the signs to the park. From Forfar: Take the B9128 signposted to Carnoustie. After approximately 10 miles turn right at the Crombie crossroads onto the B961. From there the park is signposted The entrance is situated to the west side of the park, on Panmure Road, Monikie.

Access

The park is closed on 25th and 26th December, also 1st and 2nd January.

Parking

Ample parking is available. During April to September there is a small daily charge for car and coach parking, but between October and March it is free.

Opening Times

The park is open most daylight hours, but it is advisable to check the times posted at the entrance, or telephone before you set out.

Facilities

Parking, toilets, café, trails, Ranger Centre are all accessible for wheelchairs. Dogs are restricted to the "Old Park" area, but guide dogs for the blind are welcome in all public areas. Portable BBQ's are available for hire at a small charge, but bring your own fuel. Refreshments are available all year round from the Pavilion, with vending machines for the winter months. A range of watersports are available to hire from May to September, but booking is essential for all watersports activities. An Emergency telephone is located within the Ranger Centre.
