Site Details
This site covers the area of Druridge Bay from Druridge Farm to Chibburn Mouth, about 1 mile. The southern section is owned by The National Trust. The Reserve to the immediate west is managed by Northumberland Wildlife Trust. The Reserve is largely the result of land reclamation following mining activities. The area provides quality birdwatching throughout the year; it is quietest in summer and its best in winter. Species are representative of the Druridge Bay area.

Directions
The area is accessed from the minor coastal road north from Cresswell or from Widderington (A1068). From this road the area is signposted - National Trust and Northumberland Wildlife Trust - on an awkward corner beside a small conifer plantation. A 1-mile stretch of road running north gives access to the various habitats and parking is not a problem.Access
Anyone can now use the hides (access was formerly restricted to NWT members).Opening Times

3 hides on the Reserve. Significant sightings are usually posted at Cresswell Pond and Hauxley Reserves.Key Areas / Routes
