Site Details

Cemlyn is situated on the north coast of Anglesey (SH335932). It is an area of tidal lagoon mostly cut off from the sea by a shingle ridge. The reserve is managed by the North Wales Wildlife Trust primarily for its breeding tern colony on the lagoon (which has included Roseate Tern). At the northwestern end there is a small headland owned by the National Trust and consisting of low-growing maritime vegetation and gorse scrub and a rocky coastline. The surrounding fields contain flooded pools and are worth checking out for waders. Further west are areas of wet meadow, marsh and scrub.
