Site Details
This site is an important high-tide roost for birds of the Exe Estuary. It is a 1-mile sand dune spit, extending across the mouth of the Exe Estuary. Contains mudflat, saltings, beach, dunes, scrub, wood and several small ponds. Jointly owned by Teignbridge District Council and Devon Wildlife Trust.

Directions
Take the A379 Exeter-Dawlish road and leave following the signs to Dawlish Warren. Follow this road down then under the railway bridge and park. The reserve entrance is at the far end of the long-stay car park.Access
Open to all, 24 hours. No access onto the golf course or saltmarsh.Parking

One hide overlooking tidal bay. Visitor centre with children's activities, warden, sightings news, etc.Key Areas / Routes
The hide overlooks the Bight and is a good area to view waders. Timing is key; the area is best one or two hours either side of high tide.Seabirds can be viewed from anywhere along the dune ridge although favoured spots are the sea wall and by the windmill. For more information see website.
