Site Details

Church Point, Newbiggin is a headland just to the North of the town of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Northumberland. It provides excellent seawatching and the golf course and ash lagoons further north turn up regular passage migrants in spring and autumn as well as rarities. Specialities include shearwaters, skuas and other rare seabirds. Rarities include Eastern Bonelli's Warbler, Siberian Accentor, Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler and Northern Mockingbird.

Follow the A189 North and follow signs for Newbiggin. Access by public transport from surrounding towns Ashington and Blyth.

Parking

Park in caravan site at NZ318882 and walk to Church Point.

Sea watch from area around church. Migrants anywhere on golf course and banks of ash lagoons.
