Site Details

A 800-acre (324 hectare) drinking water reservoir opened by South Staffs Water in 1953, to supply Burton-upon-Trent. It is crossed by a causeway which splits it in two.

The West Midland Bird Club has exclusive rights to issue permits for the shoreline and woodand areas.

Several parts of the reservoir are visible from public areas such as the causeway, car parks adjacent to it, and a stretch of Watery Lane, without a permit.

There are several hides around the reservoir FOR PERMIT HOLDERS ONLY.
