Site Details
A large inland reservoir situated south of the Peak District National Park, owned and managed by Severn Trent Water.
Habitats: Open water, muddy shoreline, woodland, young plantation, hedgerows, scrub.

The visitor centre is off the B5035 between Ashbourne and Wirksworth. Look out for the brown and white 'Carsington Water' signposts throughout the local area.Access
Some access for wheelchairs and pushchairs, though not all the way around.Parking
Sheepwash car park (SK248528&ar=y) - Pay and display, hides.Visitor Centre car park (SK240517&ar=y) - Pay-and-display, hide (heated), refreshments, toilets and other visitor facilities.
Millfields car park (SK248499&ar=y) - Pay on entry, refreshments (seasonal), toilets.
Anyone who has already paid at the visitor centre car park can obtain a token from reception for entry to Millfields car park. Parking charges are £1 for two hours (£3.50 all day) at the Visitor Centre and £1 at Millfields.

Reserve - 7am until sunset daily. Visitor Centre - from 10am daily, except 25 Dec (closing times vary).Facilities
