Site Details

Yorkshire Water-owned reservoir near the village of Pateley Bridge in North Yorkshire. Good for wildfowl in winter and, if the water level is low, passage waders. The wooded ridge on the far side of the reservoir is worth scanning for raptors - Common Buzzards, Peregrine, Merlin, Red Kite and Golden Eagle have all been recorded.

Directions

Take the Ramsgill/Lofthouse road from Pateley Bridge, after a few miles (with no turn offs) you will reach Gouthwaite.

Access

Viewing strictly from the 3 viewing areas by the public road on one side of the reservoir.

Parking

Public car park at Colt House. Voluntary contributions asked for. Open at all times.

Opening Times

Any reasonable time.
