Site Details

Former gravel pits back-filled with inert waste. This has resulted in a large wader scrape and a number of smaller flashes. The reserve is seasonally grazed.

Directions

Watermead CP North can be accessed from Wanlip Road signed off the A46/A607. Also access from Wanlip village from Church Road.

Access

Open access from Wanlip but keep to paths to avoid causing disturbance. Alternatively view from Plover Hide on the adjacent Watermead Park open 08.30-16.00 daily except Christmas

Parking

Best at Watermead CP North; cost £1.50, pay on entry.

Facilities

Toilets in WCPN and local services in Syston and Birstall.
