Site Details

An impressive sandy beach, stretching north from Waterville to the mouth of the Inny Estuary. The beach itself holds small numbers of waders and gulls outside the summer months while offshore, large numbers of wintering Common Scoter are worth checking for rarer species.

The beach can be explored on foot from the extensive car park at c.V486673. Scanning from here is often productive for scoter flocks, particularly if there is an onshore wind blowing.
