Directions
About 18 km from Waterford city and 30 km from Dungarvan. Best reached from the main Waterford-Cork road, turning north at Carroll's Cross to reach the lake and causeway.Access
Most of the lake margin is accessible when water levels are low, but avoid walking near the dense lakeside vegetation during April-July when waterfowl are nesting. The southern margin of the lake near the outflow (beside the tower) is out-of-bounds, but can be viewed (at a distance) from the causeway.Parking
Parking is available near the causeway across the lake.Key Areas / Routes
The northern (smaller) part of the lack is generally the most productive, including the stream inflow at northwest corner where Green Sandpipers often occur, but worth checking as much of the shoreline as possible for waders.Site Photographs
