Site Details

A large, reed-fringed freshwater lough surrounded by machair, marsh and grassy fields. The area is excellent for Barnacle Geese, with smaller numbers of other species. The site boasts a long list of rarities, which includes American Coot and regular vagrant Canada Geese.

Directions

The lough can be viewed distantly from many of the minor roads which run around its perimeter. Perhaps the best (and most extensive) views can be obtained from the graveyard on the west side at F655351.
