Site Details

A small, intertidal lagoon at the western end of Dingle Harbour, which tends to produce decent numbers of waders, wildfowl and gulls. Visiting on the rising or falling tide is most productive. The wood can be good for woodland species, such as Irish Coal Tit.

The access tracks to Burnham Lagoon is quite easy to miss; there are two small tracks leading south off the R559 at Q418001, through the small wood to the lagoon. Parking is also limited — ensure that you park safely by the roadside.
