Site Details
The 'Myres of Funzie' is a small and quite lush area of myre with a sequence of small deep pools; the site is one of several RSPB reserves on the island. Leading to the viewing hide there is a stand of willows planted along a built-up bund to allow visitors to come and go from the hide out of sight of breeding birds. The Loch of Funzie is situated just behind the myres and is joined by a small flowing stream along which the path to the hide follows from the road.Birding Sites in the Funzie, Fetlar Area

HideKey Areas / Routes
There is a hide overlooking the myres, and a stand of willows that can provide much-sought after shelter for tired migrants. Also adjacent fields can often host flocks of Golden Plover, especially in autumn.Site Photographs
