Site Details
Culloden is an area that covers a variety of habitat from gardens and fields to forests and upland moorland. Consequently a large variety of birds can be expected to be seen. The built up area includes the townships of Culloden, Smithton and Balloch. The upland area includes Culloden Battlefield and some of the reaches of the River Nairn.

Directions
Culloden village is situated a couple of miles along the A96 east of Inverness. Passing through Culloden village, a right turn through the village of Balloch takes one uphill past the extensive Culloden Forest and on to the famous Culloden Moor, site of the last battle on British soil in 1746.Access
Access to the area has no problems with plentiful roads.Parking
Parking is provided free of charge by Forest Enterprise (formerly the Forestry Commission)to Culloden Forest.There is free parking provided at the Battlefield but this is strictly for visitors to the Battlefield site.
