Directions

Balgavies Loch lies north off the A932, 4 miles east of Forfar.

Access

Access to most of the reserve requires prior permission and is restricted during the breeding season, but there is a viewpoint just off the A932 which is open at all times. The hide is open at weekends - otherwise a key is available from the ranger at Montrose Wildlife Centre (£5 deposit, £2 refund if returned). This key also fits the hides at Loch of Lintrathen. Park next to the hide, and at the viewing point, where there is an interpretative board.
