Site Details
Known as New Swillington Ings before February 2007. The area covers much of the lower Aire valley to the east of Leeds and has a wide range of habitats. The new St. Aidan's site, opened in May 2013 is managed by the RSPB but is still part of the SIBG recording area. This site has a large wetland area with extensive reedbeds, pools and traditional ridge and furrow.

Directions
Astley Lake Hide (SE381284&ar=y) is at the end of Fleet Lane, approximately one mile from the A642 in Oulton. The hide overlooks Astley Lake and gives longer-distance views across St. Aidan's. Access to the hide is by members only but all members of the public are welcome when it is open.Access
Visitors are requested to ensure that the hide is locked on leaving.Parking
Parking available 50 yards east of hide; please park tidily at the end of the car park nearest to the hide.Site Photographs
