Site Details

7 hectare scrubland site, owned by Leeds City Council. Situated at the junction of Eccup Lane and Blackhill Lane.The site is mainly of birch and willow scrub surrounded by a band of mature Birch trees. The site is mainly a passage and breeding site for Summer migrants, in particular Willow warbler, Blackcap, and garden warbler. Wood warbler, Pied flycatcher, Spotted flycatcher and Common redstart may also be present at passage time. Green and Great spotted woodpecker are resident. A small pond is present which supports breeding frogs and toads, dragonfly species can be present in Summer months

A660(T) road Otley to Leeds. Turn right on King's road 800m North of Golden Acre Park. At the 'T' junction turn left and then immediately right onto Blackhill Lane. The reserve is on the right at the junction of Blackhill Lane and Eccup Lane.


Entrances on Blackhill Lane and Eccup Lane. Parking restricted to roadside.
