Additional Site Details

From A34 Abingdon North exit follow Twelve Acre Drive then turn left onto Radley Road; at the road junction at the beginning of the village, turn right into Thrupp Lane and follow this narrow lane for about 1 mile. After the third right-angled bend, as you enter a wooded section of the road, park carefully at the entrance to the bridleway on the left (room for 3-4 cars only). This bridleway gives access to the pit complex. The pits can also be reached on foot from Abingdon via the Thames Path or National Cycle Route 5 ("The Hanson Way").

Parts of the complex are used for ash-filling and are securely fenced off.

Limited parking (3-4 cars) at bridleway entrance on Thrupp Lane.

Opening Times

Any reasonable time.

Currently none.
