Site Details
Water activity centre, comprising one large boating lake (Canada Geese, Coots, Lapwings, hirundines) and one smaller fishing lake (Great Crested Grebe, Mute Swan, Common Sandpiper). Surrounding area is a mix of open scrub with some thick areas of shrubs and trees, can be very wet underfoot during winter with standing pools (warblers, Great, Blue and Long-tailed Tits, Reed Buntings, Snipe). There is also a golf course adjacent to the site which adjoins open fields (large flocks of Lapwings). To south of the main complex and golf course is a small fenced off nature reserve. Comprises a large well-vegetated pond (Pochard, Ruddy Duck) with thick tree and shrub cover around perimeter. Island also provides plenty of cover.
