Site Details

An area of arable farmland, grazing marsh and a large fleet with reeds and scirpus. Also some scattered bushes and hawthorn hedgerows. Excellent for raptors and wintering flocks of geese, Golden Plover, Lapwing and Ruff.

Directions

From Eastchurch, head east towards Leysdown; after ca. 1 mile turn right down the minor road towards Harty Ferry.

Access

View from road to Harty Ferry. Make sure you get your vehicle off the road to ensure continuing good relations with local landowners.

Key Areas / Routes

Best approach is to drive along the road stopping to look across the fields for birds. Park near Capel Fleet or the pumping station and scan for raptors.
