Site Details

A new settlement lying along the A428 between Cambridge and St Neots. Green spaces incorporated within the village are being gradually handed over to the Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs, Northants and Peterboro' and will be managed for their wildlife interest. Main features include a large mound - Crow Hill - which attracts migrants and large winter finch flocks. There are several man-made lakes around the site which can be good and large grassland areas and a few scattered woodlands. Access is very good, with an excellent series of paths, roads and the odd car park. The Wildlife Trust's office is here too and a number of good birds have turned up in it's vicinity.

Directions

South of the A428 approx. 8 miles west of Cambridge. Head south past Morrisons and turn right at the T junction. The main car park is near Oaks Wood, 200 yards further on on the right. The main lakes and Crow Hill can be accessed easily from here. Lake 4 is more tricky as access is only from a perimeter foot path. From Crow Hill follow this east along the southern boundary until you come to the lake.

Parking

Small car park near Oaks Wood. Otherwise, Morrisons supermarket has a large car park
