Site Details

Just outside Bolbourne near Tring. College Lake consists of 40 ha of a disused chalk quarry owned by Castle Cement. Consists of a lake with island and wetland, woodland and grazing. Very good site for butterflies and flowers. Some rare orchids.

Directions

From the A41 just north of Tring, take the B488 for 2 miles east to Bulbourne. The entrance is 300 metres after the canal bridge.

Access

Belongs to Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust. Admission charge.

Opening Times

Daily 10.00-17.00.

Facilities

Hides, toilets with refreshments provided by volunteers most Sundays and Bank Holidays. Information Centre.
