We are hiring!
We require a Content Editor to work on BirdGuides, Europe's leading birding news website and sightings service, and Birdwatch, the premier monthly magazine for keen birders.
Focusing on BirdGuides, which attracts a growing community of more than 100,000 unique visitors each month, you will produce a range of written and visual content designed to connect with an online birding audience.
As such, you will have a good knowledge and understanding of using online analytics and developing audiences via social media, apps and video, and be bursting with ideas and positivity about the potential reach of digital platforms in birding.
You will also write content for Birdwatch and assist with production of the magazine, working with both its print and digital editions.
You will be an avid birder with a thorough knowledge of British and European birds, as well as being familiar with the basic principles of taxonomy and avian classification.
You should already be working in content generation or a related editorial environment, and be as enthusiastic about driving engagement as you are about adding a new mega to your list.
Based in our offices in Lincolnshire, a short distance from the Rutland Birdfair site, you will be ideally placed to be a part of a fast-growing media company and carve a real career.
Working for a family-run business has many benefits and will provide you with a competitive salary, a company pension and life assurance scheme, 26 days holiday per year, ongoing training and development, and a 35-hour week.
If you would like to be considered for this role please send your CV and a covering letter (stating your current salary) to Sharna Tomlinson, Head of HR, Warners Group Publications plc, West Street, Bourne, Lincs PE10 9PH, or alternatively email email@example.com.
The closing date for applications is 30 April 2018, but we will close earlier if a suitable candidate is found.
The new Content Editor role will give you the opportunity to help curate Britain's best birding website, BirdGuides.com, as well as contribute to the monthly production of Birdwatch magazine.
