The August 2019 issue of Birdwatch goes on sale tomorrow [Thursday 25 July] and this month takes an in-depth look at rewilding. Dominic Couzens examines various ongoing projects, discusses what rewilding means on both a large and small scale and investigates the wider issues surrounding this new conservation trend.

Also in this edition, Simon Breeze celebrates the resurgence of Western Marsh Harrier in Britain, with his species profile on the elegant raptor. Our ever-popular monthly photo ID guide takes a look at three cryptic species of wader: Andy Stoddart provides all the information you need to separate Common and Great Snipe and Eurasian Woodcock in the field.

As well as this, Suffolk is this month's County Guide destination; Rebecca Armstrong takes a look at non-profit legal entity Wild Justice and there's a bumper selection of finders accounts of all the midsummer megas, too. Furthermore, there'll be all the rarities, scarcities and Western Palearctic reports, topical comment from columnists Mark Avery, Dominic Mitchell, Keith Vinicombe and Bill Oddie, reviews, news and expert advice from our knowledgeable team.

You can buy the issue from newsagents or order online with FREE UK p&p.
