A mob of Black Backed Gulls caught, killed and ate a Water Rail during the high tide on the marsh. A very high tide happens every month or so and drives small mammals and birds off. These gulls, and many other larger avian predators make the most of the opportunity. Sadly, rare Water Rails are included. In the shot the Water Rail is falling mortally wounded into the water from where it was grabbed and eaten by on of the Black Backs.
