Cape parrots are one of the most highly threatened birds. It is estimated that there is less then a thousand of these parrots left in the wild, mainly in the remaining bits of indigenous forests of the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Threatened by loss of habitat, poaching and disease. We saw about 10 in King Williams Town, !% of the total population! They come into town in winter to feed on garden trees, giving me a rare phot opportunity.
