Very poor light I am afraid......Image is 30m away and bird is walking not panicking and flying off.....Just a minute after I had taken these images a man and woman came along and said ello ...asked my name and then when I told them proceeded to give me abuse about my lack of field craft ...apparently I had approached too close and scared the bird off... I actually had got off the raised path onto the flood area alongside the river so that I was not on the skyline and on view to everything in sight including a peregrine on a kill approx. 80 yards away over the river....I was amongst the general river waste such as weed...logs etc and had no intention of moving any closer due to the fact that two egrets were on site ( they are notoriously skittish ) ...my intention was to get images of the peregrine and the ibis....a few teal took off along with the egrets ....the ibis stayed a minute or so then flew 25 yards across the river ..that is not '' leaving the area '' as the bloke put it....he was going to inform the local bird forum and bird sites about my actions as an irresponsible photographer disturbing roosting birds!!! and I should stay away etc etc.....the bird was still in the same 100sq yard area at least two hours later and seen by quite a few other people on site including a well known and respected birder who I know well and actually spoke to about the incident....take no notice he said but it did annoy and upset me .....anyway the man was wrong and should in future keep his rants to himself..............I did say that much to him on site but did not argue as the lady was with him.........ps ..his field craft was so good he had not seen the peregrine mantling a piece of his kill directly opposite him on the other side of the river and rather than stay on site I left without getting a shot of the peregrine..
