Taken on 20/09/2019
Body completely black, dark eye, upper mandible black at tip, then yellow graduating to orange at base. No other scoter present for sizing but appeared 10-15% larger than Common Scoter regularly observed along this coast when compared to nearby female Eider. Observed for about 15 minutes feeding off Beacon point at distances of 50-70 metres with 12 x 50 Nikon binoculars.
